I finished the stock of my Anschutz 250 with Scherell's stock oil, and I was very pleased with the result.

Ordinarily, I would have used walnut oil, but I had ordered a grip for my IZH46M from Rink, and bought some Scherell's from them to see what it was like (Rink apparently use Scherell's to finish their grips).

Ballistol also do 'Balsin' wood care oil, though I have no idea what that is and what it is like.

I applied the Scherell's according to their instructions, and all was spot on

Is the Schaftol the same as Scherells ?

Scherells is the brand (maker), and SchaftOl (= stock oil) is the product.

So, Scherells SchaftOl is what you would buy.

Well... i took the grip off this evening and used nail varnish remover applied using a cotton bud.

Worked fine and repeated applications removed all the ink. Have now applied a coat of schaftoil and left to soak in over night.
