The Pellpax advert does not mention the shooting of animals, just the suggestion it is a survival pistol, which obviously is a load of old cobblers. !

Where did you get this figure from?

'There is more legislation coming on F2F knife sales for precisely this reason - ie. 80% of test purchase retailers who were happy to ignore existing legislation to make a sale in order to make a profit.'
Not camp, Gary just wishes I were!

But if the manufacturers and the Chief Pillock label such weapons incorrectly what hope has the poor novice to the sport?

take your mind of the fact that your in the poop and shooting a few tin cans or acorns will give you something else to think about ?

they are using bear grylls name to sell a product . as savage is with the troy landry line of rifles http://www.alloutdoor.com/2015/02/05...rifles-savage/

and CCI with their troy landry bullets http://cci-ammunition.com/landry/default.aspx

i bet not all the people that buy the troy landry endorsed items go out and shoot crocs. it will be the same with the bear grylls airguns .

a big name on their products sells more products to people that watch the stars on tv .

Bit of difference, that Landry gun can gill vermin at a range of 30 yards (depending on shooter), that damned pistol cannot!

my point is this , they have used a big name to sell a product . it does not matter that the landry gun can kill at 30 yards and the pistol cant. big names sells products .

Yes but The Chief Pratt should be aware of the limitations of what he puts his name to and seeing as this thread is about the irresponsible use of pistols it could be argued that he is up there now promoting irresponsible use in the marketing of that pistol.

horlicks. he is asked if he will endorse goods by a company and they pay him for his logo on their items .

the survival bit is a selling gimmick . lots of people are "preppers" but take them out in the boonies and i bet most will be crying for their mummy in 10 mins .

he is an advertising tool. his name brings in money for the companies that pay him to use his name .

knives ,multi tools ,clothing ,torches, water bottles and so on.

    for gerber

In 2009, the recession-impacted year before Grylls arrived on the Gerber scene, Outdoor had plunged 12 percent.

By 2011, his first full year in the Gerber family, Outdoor sales were up 7 percent to $188 million.

Gerber launched a partnership with Grylls in 2010, capitalizing on his popularity built through derring-do survivor adventures on the Discovery Channel program "Man Vs. Wild." Knives and other gear were emblazoned with a distinctive BG logo and packaged with a photo of a grimy-face Grylls.

The company's sales took off, bumping up revenue by double-digit percentages.

The centerpiece product – the Bear Grylls Ultimate Fixed Blade ($62) -- has sold more than a million units in its relatively short lifetime.

now tell that putting bear grylls name and face on packaging does not bring in sales .

correct . big names endorsing your product bring in money if the people that look up to them want to buy an item.. i remember seeing reports of the bear grylls ultimate knife falling to bits. did not stop people buying them though.
