My assumption was that the blanked out faces are those of juveniles.

The comments are quite well balanced, however, and some particularly articulate responses draw attention to what a shoddy bit of reporting this is.

    The squirrel page,

We have been contacted by the Express & the Mirror for comment on a story they say they'll be publishing tomorrow. We haven't given them an official response. It seems pointless because its blatantly obvious its going to be negative sensationalism by the tabloids. We did suggest that we may comment if they gave us some money....its gone quiet up till now ! ;-)

Mirror has followed it up! Do they get paid per article!

These so called tabloids are nothing but mouthpieces for different sections of the government . We have to accept that we are going to see somekind of drastic but totally inappropriate action on the part of a battered and inept govrnment as a deal for these right side of the right trash papers to leave them alone over their failure in Brexit negotiations. These attacks are too concerted and cooridinated to be just coincidence. Sorry to be negative but best prepare ourselves.

Thank you. While you are at it could you possibly find out what exactly was his motive for writting such onesided and biased story ? I saw a photo of Mr Pittaway with his .177 sub 12 ft.lbs HW 100 KT, and not those full bore air rifles that the article mentions. Perhaps he has mistaken UK for the US. These sort of thing does happen with journalists,.

There's no mention of air rifles or any specific type of firearms or calls for anymore regulations in any of those articles. Only mention of "high calibre rifles" which is ridiculous. I know there's the proposal to ban .50 cals atm but really this b*llsh*t story doesn't strike me as some masterful way of changing the public's mind about high calibre firearms - most the public are probably not even aware they are currently legal to own on licence or about the proposed ban. This is just a load of sh*te tabloids all jumping on the bandwagon, getting their facts wrong about pest control and hunting in an attempt to stir up the emotions of their mainly moronic readers. It just so happens that their publications coincides with the govt's pointless review which has been announced. Let's all just remain calm and do our part to get our voices heard to reject any unnecessary proposals IF the time comes to do so.

"Some even boasted of eating the carcasses!"

Above all else, that boiled my piss! All those self righteous twonkers posting comments about how terrible this was before pottering off to get their chicken in the oven for sunday dinner, safe in the knowledge that they would never have anything to do with the death of an animal.

Possibly just thick, maybe ignorant, but totaly oblivious to reality.

What, the same ill informed article about grey squirrels hunters with zero calls for extended regulation across three rags? No that doesn't convince me yet. If more and more exaggerated articles crop up over the upcoming months then maybe so. Until then I'm going to carry on enjoying the sport, promoting responsible use when it comes up in conversation, communicating with my local MP and advising the BASC that my airgun or any form of membership, which I've had for the past 6 or so years, will not be renewed if any form of licencing comes about in the future.

Surely this is a lesson to us all to keep a low profile and go about our affairs "below the parapet"

There are too many bleeding hearts wanting to ban anything to do with hunting so dont put anything on this social media thingy that could be considered as contravershal .
Knitting with sharp needles will be banned next.
