fx 2000 mag
will one of these mags fit the excaliber air rifle or not
-

The only difference could be the pivot hole, but I'm not sure on those two mags. If it's too small, it can be drilled to size. If it's too large, it should still fit and work.

No
sadly not - the retaining hole differs, as Troubledshooter said & as the mags are a very light alloy featuring a raised central boss around the 'hole' they are very tricky to drill out correctly (I've tried myself ).
Looks like you are stuck with 7 Shots and a Hold Open safety position.

many thanks for info mate, loading this 7 shot mag do you put the blank off part at the top when you are loading this mag please
-
I try to fit the mag
with the blank at around 5 o'clock.
One other thing you could try is to very gently remove the anodizing on the 'cog' above the blank to give a visual indication of its position. (or perhaps a very thin red paint?)
But go easy - they are deigned to be a precise fit.
Spare 7 shot mags come up for sale very rarely, but they are out there!

I drilled out the 4.0mm centres of some Cyclone/Spectre magazines to fit the 4.3mm FX2000, and after I had drilled them I tried them back in the Cyclone where they cycled and shot without a problem, although obviously the correct magazines for each rifle should always be used where possible.
The 7 shot mag was an RWS Excalibre quirk, and as far as I am aware, the 8 shot magazines work perfectly.
I can't tell you what the magazine centres are on the Excalibre as I've never owned one.

dsideleaver many thanks mate

Well
& I think I speak for the gentleman based in Winchester here, as well
Thank you, right back.
By choosing the RWS Excalibre you have shown yourself to be a man of taste, already.
-
very good mate, your advice was spot on mate
-
I liked the shape of the Excalibre's stock plus the nice hard case they were originally supplied in, but never did get round to buying one.
I never could understand the idea behind the 7 shot magazine.

im not to keen on the 7 shot mag my self but i love the wood work on the gun, thanks for your help mate
-
the blank in the 7 shot mag was handy for knowing the mag was empty when shooting night vision.
