    sling mounting stock screws

    i just ordered some off the bay. pack came with a long and a small screws. what one do you guy use on the butt end.

    Depends on the rifle but usually I use the long one in the butt end due to the fact there is less chance of it going completely through the wood work.

    Personally I would use a long one for the but end the stronger the better in my book --but if you have a stock that is on the narrow side use a small one I usually use a piece of wood first to try the drill hole size you want it nice and tight but no to tight it splits the wood I also have unscrewed it once fitted then re fitted with some epoxy glue to keep it done up

    Use a drill bit the size of the screw core, so only the threads bite in to the wood.
    The short screw is especially for the fore-stock so it doesn't protrude in to the cutaway.
