    more pics

yes mate here they are now, in daylight it is a very black blued finish, if that makes sense! Also bought a venom sticker for comparison, and the one on the gun is not the same as those for sale, also the gun is 30 years old dated by the serial number I have been told by another member - thankyou. does anybody have an early venom that has the same sticker on it with the v in venom with lines in it as shown on my rifle in the pics.https://imgur.com/Swn7m1Xhttp://https://imgur.com/A1jvcbNhttps://imgur.com/7R23eH1https://imgur.com/8OUWl4Dhttps://imgur.com/iMii0hqhttps://imgur.com/nO4CR1t

As per Craig P. That's not a proper venom sticker on the 77K. Mach 1.5

Was hoping that the silencer may show that it was a venom executive silencer but that's not the case.

Sorry no help on this one, stock is definitely not a Venom.

thanks for your imput rob, hopefully someone else has the same sticker on an early model to validate it. Anybody know if Ivan H or Steve P are `around` to confirm whether the sticker with the lines through the v is authentic and if so when they were used.

You could ask vmach. Ivan is around but sorry to say you will not be able to contact him so Steve is your best bet. Mach 1.5

When tuning a Weihrauch Venom generally changed both forend screws with Allen headed screws, they did with mine and all my pals guns, and this is something most owners would keep, this was in the 80's though.

i have received confirmation from Steve Pope ( v-mach), I sent him the pic of the sticker on my rifle along with the serial number, and he says they used a few designs over the years and he believes it is a genuine one, many thanks for clearing that up for me steve.

That's good to hear, I was pretty sure mine like yours is original. Now I guess you need to open up the gun to see what the internals are like!

I didn't have the confidence to say if the sticker was correct or not, but I'm not at all surprised it is. I suspect the action is a Venom basic tune as they were doing early on.
Only by looking at the internal might someone know more.
Whatever the case its not the sexiest Venom that is shouting out "custom", well the action isn't. Still with that stock a good looking rifle.

Personally, I would use the stock for a full modern tuned new action, and put the old action into a standard veteran stock. Many a Venom came with standard factory, the customer not wanting to spend the extra. Think that would be all better use of the parts and more correct????

    venom 77k

end of the day I`m not a big fan of springers anymore, just fancied trying an old 77 as it is one gun I never got round to trying in my early days, happy sticking to an original 45, bsa superstar and venom innova for all my hunting. I will give it a go next weekend on the range, but will probably part with it as I much prefer the steyr h5sa and lg110`s for the ease of achieving tiny groups at 50m, I admire people who can bring out the best in a springer, a technique I learned as a youngster but sadly do not have the ability or the time to rekindle my love of spring and gas ram rifles, the pcp has moved on in leaps and bounds since the days of shamals and galways and not forgetting the original daystate. long live the pcp and self indexing!
