    Post Steyr Challenge Hunting HFT

    Greetings all,

I have just taken possession of this new Steyr.
Unfortunately the quality of the stock is a bit poor - nothing like the promotional images which show a
walnut(?) job. It is actually beech with quite a rough finish. So it needs a good rub down and oiling.

But I can't get the bleddy thing off! There is a large bolt through the pistol grip but even after taking that out, the stock and action are very much together.
I cannot see any other fixings and the manual is not very detailed.

Any tips and tricks before I get physical (which nearly always ends in tears in my experience) ?

On my 110 there is a grub screw each side above the grip that needs loosening off. They sit deeper than the hole so you might not see them

If it’s the Hunting 5 version then you also have to drain and unscrew the cylinder!!
