    gun cabinet position

in tghe process of applying for my SGC, and the best possbile place i have found for the cabinet is in the pantry located in the kitchen, the only probem is that the 2 inside walls are breeze block and the outside wall is brick, would it be ok to attach it to the breeze block? or attach it to the outside one? (as i was under the impresson that this couldnt be done)

Technically it's supposed to be a 'brick-built internal load-bearing' wall!

Since so many houses are no longer built to that standard it would be best to get your FEO's opinion on the matter first. After all, he (or she) will be the one to decide if it's adequate during the inspection.

Mine is fixed to breezeblock. Understairs cupboard that backs onto the garage wall.

Used chemical bolts from rawlplug. Drill hole. Put capsule in hole. Screw bolts into hole, capsules break and a epoxy resin type liquid bonds the bolts to the breezeblock.

My FEO didnt even ask what my cabinet was bolted to. In fact he didnt even touch it or tug at it. Just looked at and said fine. I doubt thats the norm though.

Mine are fixed under the stairs, bolted to the wall, with a dirty great metal plate under the floor too, so even if it was yanked off the wall somehow, they'd have to take up half the floor too. The rawl bolts have that resin stuff on them as well, so when I move soon, I'm in for a hell of a time!
