    Lightening .177 hw 97 piston?

    Hi All,

    Thinking of lightening my 97 piston by drilling 3 X 8mm holes on each side of the piston in the middle area. Do you think it would make much difference to the firing cycle. I have it set at 10 ftIbs and has delrin guides and short stroked.

    Worth doing or leave alone?

    You can but try.

    I've seen pistons drilled like cheese graters and others milled with three horizontal slits around the piston.
