I've always thought of the 27 and the D models as the thinking man's BSA Meteor.

Just one of the many mainly German air rifles of that period that were better than the BSA Meteor. e.g. HW30/50, Haenel 302, BSF,.......

Very true. Much as I love my Mk1 Vulcan it didnt have the build quality and robustness of HW or Diana. It did match it for finish though.
