    Walther LG55 question.

Does anyone know if the main piston seal from a Walther LG55 fit a Walther LGV Match?

    I.J.,

It depends on whether your LG55 is a late or early model.

The late model has the same piston seal arrangement as the LGV - a spiggot that slots into a keyhole in the piston face.

The early LG55s had a central screw in the washer assembly - like the 1970s Dianas (Originals).

Have fun & a good weekend

    Best regards

    Thank you both gents.

It is the later key hole type (similar to the BSA Meteor) and I have ordered a synthetic replacement for the original leather washer one. I recently bought the gun and its fitted with a poorly modified HW (?) type seal, so ....

    Many thanks.

I will do. Ive ordered the part from Chambers so expect it any day. When I get the chance I will strip the LGV Match (again ) and take some photos.

Years ago I ordered a cocking shoe from Chambers, It didn't arrive so they sent another out, This one did arrive, They told me that someone was stealing their outbound post, Maybe someone at the PO knew they send airgunning goodies out and liberated the parts

The seal on a LGV where never made from leather.
Have been making my own replacement adapter to fit a HW seal, allmost identical to a original one.
    (sorry for the bad pic)

And I love my Walthers too.

    Doable with hand tools too
Just for interest as a temporary fix the HW seal will fit the LG55 screwed on washer and works well enough

    Job done.

Its now doing 600 fps with a 4 to 5 fps variation with R10 pistol and very smooth. I just need my mate Andy (AMAC from up North) to put a few pellets through it.
