    .357 powders/loads for Marlin U/L

    Dear All

    Can anyone help.

I want to find a good combination for 50m target shooting in my Marlin .357 U/L.

I have heard that Trailboss is no longer available as it is deemed not to meet EU regulations.

I am therefore looking for an alternative accurate (consistent), clean, high volume powder.

I have been using Bullseye (low vol) but thought it might be good to try out a higher vol powder to reduce risks of double priming.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

Vit 320... not affected by the REACH rules, clean burning, easy to meter.... only thing missing for you is that it isn't a high volume powder.

I use 4.4gns behind a 158gn hardcast TC bullet in a .357 case for my Marlin, but i only shoot that at 25m, although i'm sure it will reach 50

You may need to tweak the load a bit for consistency at 50m.

I second N320. N310 is nice to but the particles are tiny and it flows like water- so it goes everywhere.
Vhit does a trail boss equivalent but not used I yet.

I 3rd N320 - use it in my 357 with 4.8grns and it will one hole at 50 metres without any issues.

The Trail Boss equivalent is N32C (previously called Tin Star) - I've found 5.3grns effective in 357 but the N320 was more accurate.
The opposite is true for the 44mag, 7.8grns of N32C is absolutely superb at 50m and 100m.
