Cheers Steve. Sounds good. I like the idea of the weighted barrel. Ive just had a look at one in my local gun shop and it looks to be a beautiful rifle.

They are awesome Mike! I have a out the box version, the plan was to have it sorted, but it just didn't need it. Totally well behaved, and as you say, rather nice.
Ooh, forgot to mention, mines 177, so even more surprising that it's sweet to shoot.
Do it! You won't regret it.

I'm thinking that if I do get one it will most likely be a .177 as it will be mainly used for target shooting.

I have the short stroked. 177, with a modified stock. Best break barrel I have ever shot. You are welcome to try it in April if you can wait.
To be fair if you have a chance at one buy it

I had one in .177 few years ago , shoot great . same as the 95 but the stock and shroud makes it even better I think.
was looking at them again but over £400 now

I'm still not sure if the barrel shroud is too heavy, or where the trigger blade should be, or about a hamster.

Stock is good but maybe a fraction long in LOP
Still needs to be short stroked - it's just a 95 action
Barrel is a bit heavy - personal preference
Still needs a set back trigger

I like the option of just fitting the 98 stock to a 95 (short stroked) action - perfect
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
