Trigger blade is down to the size of your hands Phil. My 98 has the best trigger position of all my guns. My TX200 and prosport triggers could do with being further forward

HW98 looked to be just what I wanted. Bought the .177 and could not get on with it, too impatient to adjust my technique. Front heavy, kicked. Sold it as soon as I could. Years later and now I have a HW95K, .22, in a HW98 stock. I love it

I have fired a brand new Hw 98 and it was superb, easy to cock and a pleasure to shoot very smooth. The fact that you rarely see these for sale secondhand gives an indication has to how good they are, I would have one tomorrow at the right price.

I had one a while back and stupidly sold it (doh!).

My conclusion was that it's the best HW springer out of the box.

I best start saving. Having read the others opinions I'm now slightly torn between .177 and .22 I know a question like that could open a can of worms but it had to be asked.

Although the firing cycle will always be a little softer and sweeter in the larger calibre, I'd go for the .177 with the '98.

    Oh sod it....get both!

You seldom see them because they are so much more money than a 95. At the right price, as you noted, they are better than the 95.

Yep, I've just spoken with her, Mike.

She explained to me that you have been working yourself far too hard this year and that she has problems convincing you to justify buying nice toys for yourself, so I couldn't believe how receptive she was!

Wish they were all like that!

So, proceed, young sir, you have the seal of approval.

    Anyone else need anything fixing!
