You're in luck, I have an 88 Ultra Carbine that i'm willing to part with, but it won't be cheap! I'll have to pull it out the back of the cabinet and muse on price.

    Cheers

    Still looking...

Mark thanks for all your help. Absolutely gutted that your ultra carbine is not the correct length for my project. I’m looking for a standard action with the barrel section @ 185mm and the moderator as standard @ circa 165mm. Thanks again chum. ATB Geoff.

So... still looking! All you collectors. If you don’t have one perhaps you know someone that may part with one or enjoy a few extra quid this Christmas?!

You must be a strong guy to lift one of those. Our local RFD had one, don't know if its sold, TAL Arms.

    Thanks

Baz. Appreciate the heads up. Had a look on line and the itinerary on the site has no Theoben. But I’ve put a note out to them just in case. How heavy are they? I’ve never cradled the 88!

Seems people think they are not too bad on weight, must be my bad memory as I thought they were as heavy as the 7.62 SLR I carried in the Royal Marines. They say 7.5 to 8 lbs without scope, I know they have a beautiful finish on the metalwork, quality rifle. See link..

nah, not too heavy - much the same as a TX or HW 77/97

Beutiful guns, the stock shape is just perfect IMHO. (no, I'm not selling mine )
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

My scoped UC weighs 4kg on the bathroom scales. From memory the SLR was about 5kg with a 20 round mag (it's been about 28 yrs though!)

Just a smidge!!! Someone is chancing their arm a bit. But I suppose it’s all about who’s willing to pay what.
