    I've just scan read the july 1982 issue.

    Damn,those prices and availability look good .

    I recently went through an NRA journal from a similar year. Full of semi auto AKs and Pistols for not much money

    Not much money by today's standards, maybe. But IIRC, just before the SLR ban in 88 an L1A1 SLR was approximately £250. For me, at that time, that was just about a month's take home wage.
    I was saving up for one at the time.
    The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

    According to an inflation calculator £250 in 1985 is about £700 today, so a decent PCP money or something like a Ruger 10/22.
