I don't know. I live in Canada and the earliest Webley oil can that I have found is from the 1950s.
Obviously looking to add to my Webley fetish.

It is possible Webley oil cans were exported to the U.S. during the 1930s but a nice contemporary can would be a Stoeger marked one. I've been after one for some time but most that come up for sale seem to date from just after the war.
Kind regards,
John
Awesome, never would have thought of that. If I find two I’ll let you know!
Is this the can I’m after, seems more for powder guns?

Hi,
Out of interest, here are a couple of pictures of an original pre-war Webley 'Valvespout' oil can and associated cased Slant Grip Senior.
For some reason, it appears these canvas cased pistol sets are easier to find than the post-war rexine ones.

Hi,
Sorry about that. Probably due to another IOS / Windows conflict. The same pictures are on the above link to Danny's gallery.
The original can is the last one displayed as you scroll down the screen. The similar looking can pictured above it is a reproduction distinguishable by it's removable spout a feature which was not present on the original hence their rarity as they were often discarded when empty.
Regards
Brian
