Things come to he who waits.

    Hi all,

Well after many many years of waiting and trying to find one, I've finally managed to find a BSA Supersport Custom, should be winging it's way to me during the week, it's going to need a bit of a tidy up apparently but I'm not worried about that.

This is one of those rifles I've always wanted since I saw one in the mags back in the day, to be honest if you look at it it doesn't look much different in looks than a BSA Challenger and it also has the best bits of the Challenger carried across onto the Supersport platform, if only BSA started off the Supersport with the refinements the Custom had and then improved upon it from there, then I reckon we'd have a decent British break barrel to give the competition a run for their money BUT as we all know unfortunately they went the other way due to the Spanish thinking they know better.

Anyway hopefully by this time next week I'll see what's needed to improve it even more, I'm lucky enough to already have a tuning kit sitting in my spares box, so that's one bit sorted, for the first time in a long time, I'm actually going to enjoy doing a rifle as my enthusiasm has been waning recently towards such things.

Yep this is an early one (Brum made obviously), I've read that the trigger mechanism is the same as the Superstar's, in which case it'll be pretty damn good, I had a Brum made Lightning with a Superstar trigger conversion and that was lovely to shoot (the SFS tune helped as well), I think this may go the same way as the barrel is extremely long with the silencer on the end and I have either a .25 Lightning barrel or a unchocked .22 barrel I could shorten, I'll make that choice when I receive it.

Sounds great - It was definately an exciting time when Bsa brought out the Supersport and long awaited too. I've never been fortunate enough to to see a Custom model.

I don't have any photo's of mine yet and although I do have some of someone else's I don't have a photo hosting site yet, so can't show them on here BUT I've found a site below that has photo's of one.

Basically the stock is almost the same design as the Challengers/Superstar/Goldstar.

    Very true.

If only BSA had just kept making them like this then they'd probably sell a hell of a lot more and gain a bit of respect from shooters.

Oh yes and I may try and squeeze a Stutzen in there as well one, once finances allow.

I have to sort out the Supersport first.
