I don't have one at present, but you've given me an idea what I could have for Christmas.

    "The action is too slow."
Practice. Practice. Practice. You'll become a better shot - with all rifles.

    "It looks boring."
Then you have missed the point of an 80. It isn't the one dancing manically in the middle of your living room trying to get noticed. It isn't the one trying to please everyone and failing. It isn't the one with mood changes and an inability to commit.

It's the one sitting in the corner of the room quietly. Waiting patiently like a dog gazing at its master. It's the one you turn too when you need something reliable and uncomplicated. It's the one which will give you an honest days work without any sort of nonsense or complaints. It's the one which doesn't mind if its raining or at risk of getting muddy.

    It's a HW80.
It's the one you leave at home cos' it's too bloated and ugly.

When you go out you wanting something good looking on the arm - you know it's not going to do the menial stuff that needs doing and you know it's high maintenance - but just looking at it makes you want to get dirty with it

    NO 80 in my collection.

I had one in 1988 with a nice Weihrauch scope.

    I don't miss it.

In fact, I have a TbT tuned HW57 that I much prefer.

Got a few and I like them. Used to use a nice factory lefty .22 K for rabbits years back but today I would choose a Fenman.
Probably best at FAC powers, something I once considered prior to rimfire.
Not a particular pellet fussy gun in my experiance.

I would have thought that most airgun enthusiasts would have a 80 in their collection and I don't agree that they are out of fashion as they are a timeless classic that someone wrote a book about.

The 80 is a special airgun that outclasses all the other break barrels even the Diana 34 and that takes some doing

    Anyone got some custom pictures

My sentiments exactly. I've had three HW80's in the past, but I'm just as happy with my 99s, same output and lighter.

Welcome to the HW80 fairly anonymous group, you have owned a few more than me, I can't be certain but over my addiction I think I've possibly bought and sold about 15-maybe 17 and have currently whittled it down to 2.
BSA Super10 addict, other BSA's inc GoldstarSE, Original (Diana) Mod75's, Diana Mod5, HW80's, SAM 11K... All sorted!

You might have recieved a call or tx when I was at one of the bash's last year to see if you had an older one than mine.

If it was you then I think you did just pip mine in v the end.

Longstrider on here has the next oldest to mine I have ever witnessed and his is 18fp think he had his from new.

My serial makes mine one of the very first in the country I can dig it out later just in case anyone is interested.

I have a 99, 95, 97 and my 80, it has its place just got rid of my 35 couldn't get on with it.

Thanks for your ill-conceived and utterly wrong opinion. Have you found that Hw97 stock yet?
