looking for the best airgun shop in London

    Hello,

me and a friend of mine are going on a roadtrip between christmas and newyears from the Netherlands to the UK.
I am going to pickup a walnut stocked Air Arms TX200 mkII in 177 I found online in North London, and my friend wants to buy a new TX200 mkIII in 177 because they are a lot cheaper in the UK than in the Netherlands.
So here is the question: what is your favorite airgunshop in London that stocks the standard length TX200 in beech stock, in 177? And for a competative price ofcourse

    thanks Oscar

Hi, Any form of gun shop (RFD) is rare in London & would probably be very expensive, It might well be cheaper to get a bus or train, or drive out to a smaller town in one of the surrounding counties maybe visit "the Airgun Centre" Essex, or "Ronnie Sunshines", Berkhamstead.

How are you traveling ? if by ferry/car you might drive past a good shop.

There are not that many 'airgun' shops in London and prices are not that competitive I am sorry to say...

    Try these:

    http://www.woodysofwembley.co.uk/
    http://www.mayoflondon.co.uk/
    http://www.internationalfirearms.co.uk/

But if you are coming up by car from Dover, I'd also visit:

    http://www.airgunexpress.co.uk/

    or

    http://www.gun.co.uk/

which are kind of on the way.

Also I'd speak to AA direct, maybe they will be able to supply you with one or at least tell you which shop in the South East of UK had deliveries of the TX200 Mk 3 in .177.

If I was you, I would ring up, negotiate the price (compared to say BAR http://www.airgunbuyer.com/), order and collect, don't expect them to have a TX200 Mk 3 in .177 just sitting there on the shelf...

Also, I'd go for walnut not beech, I know that you Dutch lot like to save your pennies , but trust me the walnut is so nice it's worth it

    Good luck!

A phone call first to see f they have the required item in stock. Never go by the web sites as stock held is different to site stock.

Thanks for the replies, we will be travelling by car and taking the train from calais to dover, so anything on the way would be no problem. And the fact that my friend wants the beech stock is not because of the price, but because it is 600 grams heavier, and the intended use will be benchrest shooting at 100 meters. So the extra weight is only a bonus.. I do agree that the mkIII walnut is exceptionally beautiful.

You might also want to contact Pax Guns, the manager of which, Chris Thrale, is a member on this BBS.

This is deffinately your best bet. I know the area, it's a 10 minute diversion for you and is the largest stockist in the area.

We are going to give Pax a try, even known in the Netherlands for its owner and homebrand pellets!
