I get excellent accuracy and an average velocity of 4050fps using H4895 in. 22” Remington.

Great fox medicine and a very good point and squirt solution for night shooting of foxes.

Not sure what the controversy over a 1700 ftlbs load in the 243 is either, I make it with room to spare using reloder 17 and 100 gr Sierra ganekings

Certainly. 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip, 41 grains of N140 gives 3350 FPS in one of my 243s, 3400 in the other. Both provide a muzzle energy comfortably in excess of 1700 ft lbs (1745 and 1797 respectively).

75 grain Sierra HP, CCI 200 primer, Norma brass, 39 grains of N140 gives 3250 FPS through my 24 inch barreled .243 for 1759 ft.lbs.
Not really sure of the reason for the strange disbelieving grin at the end of your question. Have you had enough real life examples yet?

I use 58 gn vmax in my .243 loaded with ramshot hunter powder. The 58 bullet is short for calibre with a healthy jump to the lands but I improved my results with a light crimp.

I have used 58 grn Vmax and 55 grn SBK in several of the 243's I have had over the years.
Both of the above bullets are perfect for a flat shooting and expand violently upon impact..

I do something very similar now in my 6.5 Creedmore - I run a 95 grn Vmax at 3400 fps just for foxing (and the odd unlucky crow that gets within range).

I have used several powders such as Varget , H414 , N140 , and RL15 in the 243 with the lighter pills.
Most recently I used H380 under a 55 grn SBK which gave 4055 fps and a lot of dead foxes. Barrel life wasn't in issue as I bought the Tikka 595 as a doner rifle ... but found it was still amazingly accurate.. so decided to speed up the death of the barrel .

My pet loads were as follows - both of these would group in the 0.3 - 0.5 MOA

    46.8 grn Varget - 55 grn SBK COL 2.650 - 3815 fps

    44.8 grn N140 - 58 grn Vmax COL 2.680 - 3680 fps

Obviously work up any load safely.

    Merry Christmas

There's no guarantee the BULK powder they use in the factory rounds is the same as the CONTAINER powder they package and sell to reloaders.
I'd just buy a reloading manual and have a look at which loads potentially reach the velocities you want. You then have to do the load development though.

    95grn Ballistic Tip over 44grn N160= 3093 fps=2018ft/lb.
Safe in MY rifle at MY O.A.L. using PPU brass & Muron (KVB7) primers.
