Put an ickle stick in the piston and measure from the front to the rear. Divide that by the wire gauge and you will know how many coils will fit.

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

The King Tiger, the one that took as much work to make as fifty T-34 (do the math, Nazi dumbos!) ... In 1/72 scale of course.

My Mom is American, born in Chicago Illinois, can trace back family there to the Mayflower, although most were Swedish immigrants in the late 1800s.

Was there any evidence of your ancestors struggling to calculate spring room? Maybe it's hereditary!?? 😁

That explains it then, I'm surprised you don't have more Crosmans and Benjamin pump ups in your collection.

I did have a Crosman 766 when I was a kid, but it was a throwaway 'bridge' gun designed to get a kid ready for a .22 rimfire and as such had a lifespan of 6 months use.

I do like the quality American stuff, that is why I have a Williams aperture sight and a Wood & Water black walnut custom stock on my HW30S. I also had a Marlin 39M .22 rimfire for a while, that was a tack-driving walnut and blue steel lever action, very nice.

....but dont forget an additional 6mm ....i always allow for 6mm.
This is for the ledge of the Top hat and the ledge of the spring guide.
I never make them slimmer than 3 mm as they always look too puny...
