Same here locally. In excess of £12 per tin
Hi all,
How much are your local gun shops charging for Air Arms .177 pellets?
I phoned 3 near me recently and two want £12 a tin and my very local rip off merchant wants £13
Our lovely sponsor manages to sell them for £8.69 a tin and you can also get a 5% discount if you buy 10 tins or more.
I think I'll be buying in bulk in future.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

I guess they don't make much on rifles, so it's got to come from somewhere. Think about it - would any of us actually choose to set up an airgun shop for a business, with our families depending on the profits to put food on the table ?
It's just too niche a market, with a lot of competition online (like everything else).
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Your local gunshop will have more overheads compared to an internet only business. Do a bit of research, or even email JSB & ask them how much you would pay per tin as a dealer. You would probably have to buy a few hundred tins to get any real discount, to sell them on at a decent profit

Law of any kind only affects those willing to abide by it.
A friend of mine used to own a Gun Shop a few years ago. The mark up on pellets at the time was maybe £2 per tin max, and Mail Order Specialists were selling pellets cheaper than he could buy them for at Trade price. Running a Gun Shop is not an easy way to make a living especially in these days of Internet shopping undercutting prices all of the time.
Having said that if your pellet use is limited to a few tins per year, paying £3 extra per tin doesn't really make any significant difference to the accounts one way or the other.

Quite so Vic.
My gunshop matches online prices for the pellets I use and no postage charges.
I just have to buy 10 tins at a time.
Paid £11.99 for aa's, £9.99 ftt's, £8.99 for superdomes, all in 22. A bit more but as has been said they have their overheads, & what happens if they are gone ?, i try to support local business where i can.

£15 for a tin of AA fields in 2 gun shops i know
Just bought AA field 22 cal £11
I can understand those prices you've quoted as they are for .22's but .177's is a bit over the top, I'm not worried if my local gun shop went under as I don't use them, I've just been to another which is about 8 miles from me and they are very helpful and down to earth, I had a good chat with them and they also said they have heard from other customers who say my local gun shop are a bunch of overpriced tossers.

not sure on the price for the ones you quoted but i paid £ 13 for 500 .22 superdomes . supposedly the prices here are due to the carriage costs that we pay .
an example .
two motorbike tyres to inverbervie (aberdeenshire ) £6 each .
same tyres to inverurie (aberdeenshire) £26 each.
so 13 miles further north of aberdeen costs £20 more for delivery .
i saved £20 buying my .22lr bullets in armadale ( central belt scotland) compared to my local RFD . it was in the armadale shop that the owner reminded me of the delivery costs for anywhere above aberdeen .
report here on it https://www.cas.org.uk/news/rural-sc...livery-charges
plus we only have one RFD here so he can charge what he likes to a degree.
so i guess distribution costs to some areas will reflect in the prices .
