Galway Fieldmaster - What was it like ?

Remember the adverts for these in the heyday of springers back in the 80's. As I remember they were viewed as oddities that would never become popular.

30 years later they appear to have been the forerunner of todays PCP 's.

Which leads me to the question - Galway Fieldmaster - was it a good rifle ?

I used to own one in the 1980's ? I can't remember any real detail regarding it, but from memory it shot well and had a fantastic looking stock on it, but was very crude by todays standards with a very simple trigger.

I seem to remember them sounding like a fart.
