I copied the image URL from Google photos and was able to see it in the post using my laptop.

Can anybody else not see the picture ?

Neither Google nor FB will provide you with an embeddable link for photos, they want you to share only on their specific platforms.

As can be seen, there is no denoted image suffix which the forum software can decode and parse accordingly.

I can't see it, Brian.

It seems to be a browser problem. If I use Firefox as my browser, I can see every image posted with no problem. However, if I use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer as browser, most of the pics are missing.
