    What's the rules on...

...shooting spiders and other insects with an airgun?

And before any pedants on here start to get a chubby -- Yes, I know spiders aren't technically insects.

At the farm in the summer sun, if I'm having a bad day, I can always rely on flies on the car, soaking up the heat. Yep, a pcp with no pellet in launches them real good from close range ie very close, approx 4 inches

Not very sporting if you don’t mind me saying, anything with wings ought to be shot on the wing and with shot.

    It’s practically the rules!

Many years ago on the farm, those big fat flies on cow dung at 20 yards plus used to provide immense fun!

Ive shot many flies with no pellet in my PR-45.

The blast of air kills them.

Ive no doubt a PCP rifle will do the same.

I should have specified that this is for indoor use, and in paintwork/furniture/glass/ornament rich theatres of operations.

I could respect that viewpoint against regular house flies.

Looking good! And available in the UK without a licence (at present): https://www.amazon.co.uk/BUG-SALT-2-...rds=bug-a-salt

50 quid though... for that money, I'd want to know it was built better than your average £15 toy gun, and with enough power (at 3 feet away) to take out a big house spider?

What range are you getting with the PR-45, using air only? Well less than a foot is my guess...
