    Your top ten air pistols

Yes, another pointless but fun and vaguely informative list thread.

What are the ten (or less, or more!) air pistols you would like to (or do) own. From any vintage. CO2, spring, PCP, whatever.

And why? Accuracy, build quality, fun factor, looks, bang for buck, usability, mod-ability, you name it.

I just have an HW45 at the moment, but I'm thinking that pistols may be the way forward for the collector in me, as I can store them discretely and sneak them in the house past the wife... So this thread is also about opening my eyes to the options for wasting my money! That I don't have!

    Spring/Vintage:
Webley Junior Mk 1 or Mk 2; .177 pellet, small, simple and fun pistol
Diana/Original Model 6; .177 pellet, accurate, good build quality (recoiless)
Diana/Original Model 5; .177 pellet, accurate, good build quality (with recoil)

    CO2:
Crosman 2240; .22, accurate, inexpensive, simple to use, easy to modify
Tau 7; .177, accurate, very nice balance, standard 12gm bulb
FWB Model 2; .177 pellet, accurate, simple to fill (bulk fill)
S&W 586-6; .177 pellet, accurate and fun 10 shot revolver
    Tanfoglio/Swiss Arms/Remington 1911; 4.5mm BB, fun semi-automatic blowback.

    SSP:
    HW40; accurate, inexpensive .177
Baikal IZH 46M; accurate, easy cocking action, good fps, good balance.

    PCP
PP700W; based on value/price, but need to fit sights! IIRC later models available with sights fitted.

Ooh! Ok, here goes, but the following differs greatly from my top ten of a year ago, and probably, from my top ten of twelve months from now, too, as my current pistol emphasis is on retro fun plinking rather than close group paper punching (which I was never particularly good at lol ) ...

.1) Co2 Schofield BB in antique finish.
.2) Co2 Webley Mk.VI (BB or pellet) in battlefield finish.
.3) Webley & Scott slant grip over-lever springer in either cal (best looking Webley pistol of all time).
    .4) Co2 Steyr M-9 A-1 BB semi auto repeater.
.5) Diana LP5 Magnum break-barrel pellet pistol in .22 (a real fun gun power house).
.6) Co2 Walther CP99 (all black pellet version).
    .7) HW45 over-lever springer with both interchangeable .177 and .22 barrels.
.8) BSA Scorpion break-barrel springer in .22 for fun and nostalgia.
    .9) BSA Magnum over-lever springer Mk.II in .22 for fun and nostalgia, and lastly;
    10) Milbro Diana SP-50 springer plunger pistol -- again for fun and nostalgia.

    NB
    * if calibre not listed, the default is .177.

Nice to see the Diana LP5 getting another vote, as it truly is an AWSOME bit of pistol-shooting kit.

Another vote for the BSA Scorpion in .22.

Great for messing up tin cans and old crockery.

Remind me to free up that recent purchase under the bench.
