Got back about half an hour ago Tone. Good trip, stocked up on 6 months worth of baccy. My mate, who was the driver managed to walk into a fire hose-reel in Cite Europe supermarket and split his head. Paramedics called, no stitches required but he was a little shaken so I didn’t have a drink all day in case he wanted me to drive the return journey but he was ok in the end. Having a Brandy and coke now to make up for it but won’t be long for bed now.

I may have mentioned it before and, anyone who has driven through the Calais EuroTunnel Terminal will know, the place is running alive with rabbits.... talk about wrong place wrong time

It was red Mike and so was the floor around it after Jim nutted it. There is a fire hose reel on about every 6 columns at the end of the aisles, at head height (I’d have been fine) and the open/shut valve sticks out a fair bit which is what he collided with - not ergonomically ideal really.

He’s fine but as you can imagine with a bunch of mates on a day out, we ripped the piss out of him on the way home. Funny thing is, in France when you call an ambulance/paramedics, it’s the Fire Brigade that turn up - maybe they put those hoses there to drum up business

He is this morning Pete. The French Firemen/Paramedics told him he didn’t need stitches yesterday, this morning he woke up to a red pillow, he’s at A+E now getting it stitched

Well he did speak highly of them at the time they looked after him so maybe he just added to it by head butting his headboard in the night
