Got back about half an hour ago Tone. Good trip, stocked up on 6 months worth of baccy. My mate, who was the driver managed to walk into a fire hose-reel in Cite Europe supermarket and split his head. Paramedics called, no stitches required but he was a little shaken so I didn’t have a drink all day in case he wanted me to drive the return journey but he was ok in the end. Having a Brandy and coke now to make up for it but won’t be long for bed now.

I may have mentioned it before and, anyone who has driven through the Calais EuroTunnel Terminal will know, the place is running alive with rabbits.... talk about wrong place wrong time

Sounds like a (generally) good trip, Pauly, and I hope your friend is okay.

Yep, seen those bunnies a fair few times; there are loads of them, in'it?

Nope, tiz no good, I'm going to simply burst before the Boinger Bash at this rate ... Just bought some provisions for the bash, too: two crates of Boddingtons Bitter, four Bombay Bad Boy pot noodles, four 'ring-pull' tins of Baked Beans, two packets of Cheddar Cheese biscuits, and a box of x40 extra strong T-Bags ... Forgot to buy any pellets though (Doh!), so once again, I ho, I ho, a shopping I must go.

LOL. May not be needed though, because as stated a few pages back, along with provisions, I'm also planning on bringing a good few spare carrier bags with me, too.

Well, that little lot will take care of the provisions for one morning, Gareth, so guessing you'll have a fair bit more shopping to do!

Don't worry re the wait. Even us seasoned Boingerfolk start to get really tightly coiled as we get closer. And this is always all the more acute for the April Gathering as it's such a long while since the last one and sees us putting the manky long winter behind us. In fact, once you've done your first meet, it probably gets even worse as you will have experienced the unique and wonderful atmosphere first hand and will need to get back for your next fix! Sorry, not helping, is it?

It was red Mike and so was the floor around it after Jim nutted it. There is a fire hose reel on about every 6 columns at the end of the aisles, at head height (I’d have been fine) and the open/shut valve sticks out a fair bit which is what he collided with - not ergonomically ideal really.

He’s fine but as you can imagine with a bunch of mates on a day out, we ripped the piss out of him on the way home. Funny thing is, in France when you call an ambulance/paramedics, it’s the Fire Brigade that turn up - maybe they put those hoses there to drum up business
