A friend and I once did the full Mike Wade conversion on his .22 '80. He's the same FAC holder that I mentioned on a recent Innova mention. So, opened TP, increased stroke and the Mike Wade spring = 21.5ft.lbs with the old Wasps.

When he stripped it, another friend put the Micky Wade spring into his otherwise standard '80 - 18.5.

Nice one Tony, an 80 running as nature intending is something to behold!
It's also easier to manage, bring over the gun with an export spring with a coil and a half removed: Bosch! A smooth and quick 18-19 ft/lb in .22.

    Indeed, Padders.

That standard stroke one with just the spring fitted (obviously the usual polish / re-lube etc.) shot very, very sweetly indeed.

As you say, just as HE intended.

Ooh, I'm getting moist at the thought! Trouble is we were planning a sneaky weekend alone over here next month, but I doubt it'll fit in Karens car.

Oh yes, did I remember seeing that you'd treated yourself to a Porsche? Congratulations!

You could always strip it before you go.

No, we are still searching for the right car, but a local Porsche specialist is loaning us an SLK350 while he finds us one.

But yes, transporting in pieces will be perfect! Thanks for that!

Well, I went out to my permission tonight, got there around 18:30, chatted with the owner for about an hour (all the while chatting I’m wanting to bait out and shoot: but eventually got going). It was effin’ freeeeeeeeeezin’,I baited up with liquified cat food/cooking oil/out of date marmite and a shite load of other smelly stuff in a bottle. Baited 4 areas that I normally see Roland’s in and, waited, moving my position every 15mins or so.
After 2 hours..... not a bloomin’ thing and my whole body was frozen by this time. Still, my spirits were high as I was ‘out there’. Within the next hour I took 9 shots which resulted in 7 less Roland’s and two misses due to frozen trigger finger (hey, it was cold). It was when I went to light up a fag and the flame on my lighter froze...... I decided to go home

Now sitting here with a glass of Merlot thinking..... life’s kind of OK

Excellent stuff, Pauly, and just shows how enjoyable and uplifting it can be just to be out there, despite those willy-shrinking temperatures.

    And 7 rolands too!

Did you manage to get your tab lit?

    Nice one, matey.
