Oh yes, LOTS of news my good peeps.

This has been a long time coming, but I handed my notice in at work today. Yay! Freedom!

New job confirmed at Allan Jefferies BMW Motorrad South Yorkshire. Far, far more professional and I'll be joining a well-oiled and enthusiastic team.

And they're closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

About six or seven miles closer, too, so less time travelling, wear and tear on the car etc etc.

Can't wait to get started. The knob wants me to work until the end of the month to try and show them various systems and impart knowledge etc. By the sounds of it, BMW want me to start straight away. So, I'll be seeing them again on Wednesday and if that's the case, well, loyalties have to lie with my new employer, so we'll see how that all pans out...

Ha ha, wish I was there to see that Tone, it must have felt good. Did he not even try and tempt you to stay for a few more shekels? It’s a bit late in the day now to ask you to impart your knowledge onto others

Are you paid monthly or weekly at the moment mate cos I guess that may determine your actual leaving date ??

The only sport I ever watch on TV is MotoGP and, if 'er indoors isn't about and I have time, darts.

Oh, and the odd little glimpses of any shooting and archery when it's Olympics time.

Yep, he asked what he could do to change my mind and I said I'm going and that's it! So many positives at the new place which he simply couldn't start to compete with.

I'm paid monthly so, theoretically, I'll get paid at the end of the month. But...and it's a big but, he's been messing with our wages from November to save the poor little soul some dosh over the winter. I kinda get the feeling that you could stay all month and end up getting shafted. And my wife thinks the same. So she's basically saying tell him to do one. If the new people want you like yesterday, just go, nothing to lose. I owe him nothing and my future (hopefully long term) is with BMW, so just tell him to stick it! Very often in this sort of job, you're escorted out straight away in case you steal customer records / start contaminating other employees and customers etc. But he hasn't got a clue how to work the various Ducati systems. That I can pass on very quickly. The donkeys' years worth of enthusiasm and dedication to the brand and all the knowledge I've gained over many, many years will take a little while longer........
