    Interesting Toy Rifle.

Stumbled across this interesting little rifle which is included in Holts next London auction in March. Looks a bit like the Martini Henry which would no doubt have appealed to the younger generation of the period.

Also noted they have moved their London saleroom to:

    Holly Hedge House
    Blackheath
    London SE3 0QZ

    Regards
    Brian

Interesting, Brian. It probably works like this pre-WW1 Eureka pistol (made by Mayer & Grammelspacher):

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

Hi Brian, l have a pistol that is cast with Harmless on both sides, and also has LW cast on one side in the grip that works in the same way as the Holts rifle. it's very similar in shape to the one in Danny's photos but it has a ring pull trigger. J.C.Milliteria had one a few years ago that is same as mine, but that was cased and if l remember right it had it's dart/arrows with it.

The German officer class, when they were militaristic and sabre rattling after unification, used to buy complete minature uniforms and swords and rifles similar to these for their kids.

Surely far too nice to be classified as a mere toy.
