    Rapid Bi-pod fitting.

Has anyone had any experience of fitting a bi-pod to a Rapid 7 Mk2. I have heard of some bottle fitting systems but get the inpression that these may strain the bottle seal. The ones I've seen,on the woodwork, look to be too near to the centre of the rifle to be as stable as those on other guns which are nose biased. This is to be my first FAC rifle and just know that to take 50yds plus shots I will need a rest of some sort. Ant suggestions chaps?

    Thumbs up bipod

i bought a bottle adapter for my mk2.basicaly an alloy ring that slips round the bottle and nips up tight with a grub screw.it is designed to take a harris bipod and is rock solid.dont seem to have any problems with the bottle mount.

I bought a MkII from here which has a swivel stud fitted into the wood 4.5" from the front of the stock. Looking inside the stock there seems to be a thicker section of wood at that point, obviously enough to take the stud ( ).
Can't tell you if it works, though - it's a R/H stock so I've got a MkI L/H stock fitted to the rifle.....

I have two bipod adaptors to fit the 400cc normal Rapid bottle and one to fit an MFR, made and ready to send out. E mail me if you want one or a picture of one.

Your memory bells are correct and I still do bullpups plus conventional stocks and other bits and pieces.

I've had two alloy bottle rings, one B&M and another one with a split ring.
I still have the B&M though it only fits my older type bottle.

The easiest to use however was in a box of Rapid bits I bought off of the BBS which comprised a stainless band with a lug tack-welded on to it and a wing nut type tensioner.
Scratches are avoided by sticking plaster type material stuck on inside of band.
I'll do a picture when I get round to it.(New ISP haven't set up webspace yet)
