    Gamo R77 co2 seal

Tried to fit one but it won't go in!
I understand the easiest way is to screw an empty cartridge down and it's supposed to push it into the recess.
The seal seems to be very hard and inflexible, despite coating it in pellgunoil.
Any other ideas before I consider reducing the diameter a smidgen?

Place in boiling water to soften it!

Tried that today but it still wouldn't go in. Got fed up and just trimmed a bit off!
Any ideas for material to make them with as I think £5 is a bit of a rip off?
