    Barrel adjustment is extremely easy.

I did find mine did need setting for particular mags though. 2 out of the 3 were very good, the other needed the barrel tolerance setting to use it.

Pellets are best seated in the mags too.

    Outstsnding bit of kit.

Quiet enough for the range or for hunting.
I sold mine to Neil180 on here and deeply regret doing so.

Don't rule out the manual version (mine was manual). Capable of putting 5 shots in a bull in as many seconds without changing hold or head position.
You know I take cards, right?!

Has he fitted the barrel to the mag? If not that will be the problem. It should be in big, bold letters on the front of the case imo. Go to the Steyr website and watch the set up video, within minutes it will be sorted.

Must be one to go back to the dealer then, if your chum has tried getting the airtube tight first. Loose tube will not help.

I have to say mine was bob on for accuracy from day 1. 22 cal and full length SA. Here's a card shot about two months after I bought it, 20 yards standing, ten shots (two separate magazines) using JSB 5.51 straight from the tin.

Tell your chum to persevere as this is a superb piece of kit really.

    or put another way:

I bought a Range Rover Sport. I was disgusted to find I had to move the seat so I could reach the pedals and steering wheel.

I should have stuck with my Dacia Sandero!

    zero

the instructions say it was tested at the factory even included the test target so it should not need setting up

I really like that stock too...maybe it's the angle but looks too deep at the rear and no depth at the front.

I know GC would make it to suit me though.
