Ok So I'm a numpty - Another regulator Question

I asked a question a regulators on here yesterday but got things a bit wrong.

The regulator I found on sale fits a BSA Gold Star, not a Scorpion as I stated. Ad says this:

For sale is an original BSA Gold Star regulator, it was removed from a fully working rifle during a conversion and works exactly as it should. This can be fitted straight on and will work as intended. It was removed from a .177 which uses a slightly higher pressure setting than the .22. It will also fit onto the Ultra and scorpion actions as BSA use the same firing valve and tube threads in all of their tube fed actions.

Is this correct? Will it fit my non MMC Ultra?

    Thanks

Probably will, but you do hear rather a lot about BSA regs i.e. Problems, then Mr Bowket winds up chucking them away and fitting his own, have a look at the Altaros website, pretty easy to fit, and not to bad to set up, plus you get the fun of doing it yourself, not that expensive either, Rog

The Goldstar reg can be fitted to non SE Ultras and Scorpions but I wouldn't bother, there are better regs around, the Tench or HuMa regs are in my experience the best you can get but the Tench reg is not a DIY fit, the HuMa reg can be fitted by anyone who reads the instructions and watches the installation video. You don't need any complicated or expensive tools.

Why is the tench reg not diy? I don't understand it just screws on.
Don't think you can still buy the tench one new anyway.
I have one on my Scorpion got the gun cheep because the tench reg was leaking. I think the seal kit was £7.5 and easy to fit.
    Scorpion. 177 hornet. 177 txhc. 177 s200. 177 97. 177 99.177 95. 22 80. 22 vulcan. 22 excorcet. 22

I thought Tench designed the Gold Star SE.

Might be worth dropping him a line and asking any questions you have.
