Not so much on the 88 and Colt?

Ive never had this problem with new ones Ive bought but it is common on used ones.

So stop with the big strong man approach and do it right.

Which is to use the wheel just to locate the capsule and then the lever to pierce.
Definitely seen it in CP88s - one complete failure and another with noticeable stressing.

    UMAREX Beretta 92FS Pressure Plate

I had a mishap happen to me a couple of years ago with my Umarex 92FS while putting in a new co2 cartridge. I shut the cartridge lock on the butt of the pistol and c02 began leaking out. It just barely dented the co2 cartridge. I was able to find this thread and diagnosed the problem to the pressure plate as mentioned previously. I scoured the internet trying to find a place to purchase the part but as all of you are aware, there is only one, Gun Spares from the UK. It was sold out and so I went on the waiting list. A couple weeks ago I was notified that it was back in stock and so I ordered one. It came with the screw, thankfully as I have misplaced my old one somewhere after all this time.

Upon putting the new part inside and managing to get everything back in place, I slid a co2 cartridge inside and found out that the screw on the pressure plate was no where near going to reach the co2 cartridge. Looks to be a good half an inch clearance. If you unscrew the screw any further it will come out of the pressure plate and it's difficult to screw it back in without taking everything apart again. The old pressure plate, that I had assumed was bent, never had this large of a gap between the screw and the co2 cartridge. The part looks like it is the correct part, so I just don't understand how this big of a gap could be occurring. The only thing I can think of is it is the wrong screw or the cartridge lock mechanism on the butt of the pistol is also bent somehow.

I always thought I was taking care not to over tighten the screw so it was a surprise that this happened in the first place but I must have been doing it wrong. I could have kept using the old part by putting a washer on top of the screw but I opted to fully repair the unit. I wish I could show photos of the old part inside the chamber but I removed it early on and it's misplaced somewhere now. I really wish I could find the old screw so I could compare it with the new one. I'd love to hear what experts here have to say. Thanks for letting me post on your forums, I appreciate it.

BK233 Pressure Plate came with B1681 Cartridge Screw are new in the photos.
