I can see many saying the FWB 65 or the early Walther series starting with LP53, to the LP3. But to me the most graceful pistol ever designed was the Luger. I would have to pick a air pistol that used this form. Here are my Luger inspired pistols. Hard for me not to pick the rather common Haenel 28. Should pick the Tell 3 but can’t do it.

I agree that there is something very neat and tidy about the Luger style that has a universal appeal. Here is another Luger-type spring air pistol from the Haenel stable that few people will have seen. The ultra-rare Haenel 55R.

This pistol is described in Ernst Dieter’s book on airguns made in Suhl and Zella-Mehlis (East Germany) after WW II. Made by ETW from 1953 (who continued to use the Haenel name for a while) it never actually went into full production and there was just a small pre-series run. It was available with a drum magazine or a spring-fed tube magazine for 8, 10 or 12 ball shot, or a 25 shot drum magazine

Well, every day a school day. Never seen one in the metal, don't suppose I ever will! Interesting no less though. After the graceful lines of the 28R that looks a bit of a abomination !
