I have just bought a S510 Carbine, BUT alongside my S400 Carbine, the 510 is a few inches longer, more like the classic length looking at pictures of the 510 they all seem longer than the 400/410 K. Anyone ?

The word carbine is not standardised in any way.
If a maker has 2 rifle models and one is shorter then the other thats the carbine.
Comparing 2 carbine lengths especially 2 different models is just silly.

Both the S510 Carbine & Super light traditional length rifle, have the same length barrel according to the air-arms page...
This does make things a little confusing as according to the specification page they are the same dimensions, and also the longer traditional rifle is still stamped Carbine, but...the dimensions are actually different if you have the proper carbine the barrel length should be about 40cm , the classic rifle is nearer to 50cm the air tank is also longer
I had the opposite problem, I wanted the full length rifle not the carbine

Just been speaking to my RFD, he said that the 510 Carbine, has the same length air cylinder as the 400/410 classic. You would think AA would have put the 400/410 K air tube on the 510k, how odd.

Cylinder is the same length as the classic 400/410

Yes the 510 is a different model BUT I would of expected the standard length 510 to have the 400 classic length cylinder and the 510k to have the same length cylinder as the 400 k, both being the Carbine.

No I grasp it fine.
YOU assumed the S510k would be the same length as the S410k.
Even though it is a totally different model.
And now you seem to think thats AA fault somehow?!
If you look on https://www.air-arms.co.uk all the info is there so you can view before you buy next time.
