This is mainly due to the sticky optical grease they use to dampen/tighten up tolerances of the machining of the these cheap scope. You will find that in the warmer months it actually performs much smoother but at the moment due to very cold weather the grease acts to make the movement much harder. I would leave it alone or use a ' breakaway coaster ' as in the photo.Originally Posted by Simply Simon
