    Chrome removal

    Is it possible to remove the chrome finish on a gun action so that it can be re-blued?

    It can be removed by electrolysis, basically it's the reverse of the chrome plating process.

    Possibly with media blasting but it may leave a less than smooth surface. There is soda blasting but i'm not sure if it can remove chrome. Soda blasting is baking soda so its not as harsh as grit or sand blast .

    There may be a chemical that will remove it

    Or you could cerakote it rather than bluing

    It may polish off . you would have to consult some one that does the work i would think.
