    HW98, or HW77 laminate?

What do folk reckon? What would you choose?

As the piston seal diameter is the same for both i assume the behaviour would be much the same?
The purpose for this rifle will be target and plinking orientated.

I have a 95 and know the 98 has the same guts, however i like the stock and barrel weight of the 98.

    I'm between the 2...

On its own the similarity on the bore size means very little.

Other than both being HW's with the same trigger, the handling and shooting characteristics of the rifles differ significantly : the weights are different, the balance is different, loading is different etc.

Given that you've already got a 95, I would go with the 77 by way of variation, but to be honest I'd handle both side by side first if you can - If you've not already shot a 77/97 then you really need to shoot one so you can decide for yourself: break barrel vs underlever is a bit like a front wheel drive car vs a rear wheel drive car - they both do the same basic job but they feel very different in the way they do it.

While I really like the laminate thing, I'd go with the 98 because I much prefer breakers...

I have both of those and they are indeed completely different to use. One thing I love about the 77 is the open sights for plinking. If I had to get rid of one or the other I would be torn but reckon I would keep the 77
