HW30s or HW95 Luxus?

Fancying a break barrel to go with my 97 and Prosport both in .177. Having never shot a 30/95 not sure which to get. 95 in .22 after reading they are much better than .177? But the 30 in .177 seems to be loved by many. Only be using for 30m targets in garden and informal shooting at the local range.

Also, never have shot a super duper tuned gun, woud the 30s be similar in shot cycle?

Don't get drawn too much in to super dooper tunes.... if you can shoot the rifle accurately and happily then evidently there is no need for spunking money on a big tune.

For me, a debur, new spring, seal, guide, tophat, trigger adjust does the job!

I own both, but making a choice I'd go for the HW95, as advised already in .177. Add a steel silencer to the carbined barrel and you'll reduce the much commented upon muzzle flip and will have an accurate, durable (it won't eat itself with the gauling issue) springer that you can try at anything.

I’ll advocate for the wonderful little 30s.

If you don’t need 12ftlbs and just shoot targets the 30s is unbeatable.

You get the option of open sights
You can shoot all day without the need for physio
Kids, wife, oldies will be able to cock it
It’s a pleasure to shoot with its civilised shot cycle.
It’s startlingly good at 10m and bell target.
It’s very affordable

OK, it’s a bit short in the length of pull, and some can need a bit of tlc, but the advantages outweigh these imho.

I own and shoot both of these two airrifles, the hw30 is an exceedingly accurate airrifle that is easy on the cocking arm. The hw95 is just as accurate but at 11.2 ft/ lbs can become tiring after a couple of hundered pellets, the advantage of the 95 is that it can be detuned down to 6.5 ft/lbs but the 30 cannot be tuned up to 11.2ft/lbs. hth.

just thought id comment on this thread after reading this . the first thing I thought is your putting a adult rifle [hw 95 ] against a junior rifle [hw30 ] although iv never shoot a hw30 I expect them both to be hw quality , does that make the 30 and 95 chalk + cheese in there uses ? .there both rifles , both made for shooting but the 95 is a outstanding brake barrel rifle one of the best out there .like I said iv never had nothing to do with a 30 but to me it seems a bit small ? if its a small rifle your after I will put the cat amongst the pigeons now and state there is a hw out there that falls right between the 30 + 95 its the hw99s
