    Korean FWB 300 clone

    Hi,

Looking for info about my old spring 10m target rifle. Used to shoot competitively in the 80’s, my father and I used this Feinwerbau 300 copy. Its still acurate, anybody ever heard of it?

Markings on it Tong Il King Rifle, LG Mod M S K ST100.

I know its Korean says so on the markings, did google Tong Il and it came up with a M14 .177 military training rifle. Cant beleive this is the only one!

    More research

Ok, after a little more research it appears to be one of the Unification church (moonie) feinwerkbau clones!

You couldn’t make it up. Tong Il now are a major South Korean arms manufacturer.

It’s a great old school target rifle with a somewhat unique history!

Is it a clone or just a rebadged FWB. The quality, stock, barrel crown & foresight mounting pin looks identical to the FWB 300 I have. A bit of research might be in order to see if FWB supplied any 300's to the koreans & just re stamped them.

    Clone

it's a clone. i remember comparing it to real FWB 300's in the 80's.

Apparently you can use real FWB 300 spares.

An interesting thread - it will be good to get an answer to this question.

I am sure some of our BBS historians will be along shortly to advise us

I used to have one & I think they are quite well built and finished compared to some more modern air guns.
From the research I was able to do they were brought into the uk as a cheap alternative to the FWB , & parts are more or less interchangeable, nice to use and shoot.
Compared to the FWB 300 they were not as well made ( a bIt like some of the TX clones that are around now) especially the rear sight ( however it’s perfectly useable).
    Enjoy it 👍

I might have to get a real Feinwerkbau 300 for comparison.

Its a very accurate rifle, Haven't touched it in nearly 25 years.

Picked up some 6yd air7 targets at the NSRA shop at Bisley yesterday. Shot a 78, 78 and a 84 / 100. Sights Need zeroing.

Just noticed the trigger blade on the added pics, looks about the only difference I can make out now

The rear sight is rough cast and poorly finished although functional.

Perhaps i should grab that genuine FWB300 diopter off of zooma
