    Black rubberised spray paint

Which one to use on a stock chaps ? I'd prefer to just go to a shop and buy some, so we're can I buy it ? Anyone sprayed a stock with this stuff ? What's the general opinion of it ? It's purely to do a hunting gun, so it won't have to be perfect.

Hi, I haven't used the rubberised spray paint, but have refinished stocks with Matt black Duracoat on hunting rifles, very hard wearing and weatherproof ... HTH Mark
Not sure where I`m going.....But I`ll get there someday

Halfords mate. I used it on a slightly rough HW30 stock I had knocking around.

Went on quite well and pretty durable (you have to want to scratch it off to get it to move, if you know what I mean)

I'm pretty sure I didn't when I did mine. I think I applied a couple of coats though.

If you want a grippy finish you could try bed liner

I've done a stock repair in bedliner. It was a Spanish Meteor that had snapped clean in two at the wrist. Came up really nice. I got mine from Halfords but it doesn't appear to be stocked any more. Try a search for Hycote, that may give you some options. I had to undercoat for that finish, but it gave a very tough and grippy surface.

I got some from Halfords last week to spray a stock with. Its in a blue and black can on the paint aisle, works best if stood in a bucket of warm/hottish water for ten minutes. Gave a good finish.

    I tried plastidip spray, twice
Goes on easy, looks nice and is grippy, problem is is rolls/rubbs off on contact areas around pistol grip etc ! I even tried their own primer the secondtime but it still rubbed off.

I'm still looking so glad I found this thread
