I use a 22 hornet for pests rats target shooting at close range pidgeons etc
I use a 20 grain gamo 22 lead ball 13 grains of black powder compressed with a cardboard lubed wad
The round travels at 4800 feet per second

Grain gamo lead ball no case extraction sounds like a Winchester 300
Mag lots of smoke and a ball travelling at 4800 fps

Winchester 296 will "demolish" a Hornet case if you use too much; it certainly burns fast enough in my Hornet (and K Hornet)! I still have some Win. 680 which was also a useful powder for the Hornet. Another plus with ball powders relates to the manufacturing process which greatly facilitates the removal of residual acid left over from the nitration process(residual acid greatly promotes the decomposition of nitrocellulose). Therefore, ball powders usually have very good storage lives. All this said, this does not necessarily mean that ball powder is the best for your gun; other powders may produce better results re accuracy and velocity.

Meter beautifully as well. Although not used in a hornet load, when I was using Ramshot I was able to meter damned near smack on +/- 1/100th grain. Superb, just ran like water.

Bullet speed seems a tad ambitious.

Asked entirely on the contents of this post, all I can surmise is you're an idiot!

You haven’t been asked who cares what you think
You have to shoot over other peoples land because you own nothing

Oh contraire, I have been asked just not by you....

As for shooting over other people's land, what on earth does that have to do with anything? (Rhetorical question)
    Thanks for looking

I would suggest you try it in a universal breech and report back, confirming that you are not wildly over pressure with that velocity, if the velocity is correct.
    Thanks for looking

But I doubt it's very accurate

Your cases are sticking because the loads you're using are deforming them, , unless you're trying for a Darwin award, use a lighter load.

I don't need a chrono to know that a Hornet isn't going to get a 20 grain projectile to 4800fps with black powder.
You do know that's more than 1000fps quicker than a 17 Hornet can manage using modern powders?
