hi lads, crosman made three variants of the 140, all in .22 in (1954) (1955/1957)
and the last 3rd variant in ( 1956/1962 then some mods in 1961/1968) no mention of .177 or.20
have checked my 75 years of crosman airguns 1923 / 1998.. hope this helps.. J.S.D.
I think that the 0.177 version was called the Crosman 147.

Life is to be enjoyed, not endured.
hi webman, yes you are correct, the 147 is in .177 kind rgds.. J.S.D.
As there's a no chit chat rule in the sales section I thought I'd better move this thread so you can carry on now that the gun is sold.
I have three or four 140s --- I take it the ones with the safety catch running through the stock woodwork is from the early 1960 production run ?
All the best Mick
Thanks Mick. Good Skittles. This thread has by default become very informative, so cheers for moving it as it would've been a shame to loose these facts and figures via the deletion of non sales related chit-chat posts, as would've had to've been the case if left in the sales section.
