I'm completely losing track of what guns I do and don't still have...

You lot are mostly old right ? I'm not even 50 and I seem to be slowly losing it...

Just asked my Dad to bring up the old Diana MkIV he has when he comes up next weekend for Kempton... He emailed back a while later to say that he doesn't have it, and he thinks he's already given it to me.

"No way" says I... then I did a search on the BBS...

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

    Losing it

Its when you can recall your first day at school but not what you had for brekkie this morning you have issues.
Losing track of the guns is quite common but still disconcerting

I realised I was losing it a few years ago when moving home. I came across a .22 BSA Standard underlever and couldn't for the life of me remember buying it, shooting it or even seeing it before. Admittedly at the time I had far too many guns, but even now, after two major auction consignments pared the collection down by 75%, the memory of that rifle reminds me not to take it for granted that I know exactly what I have tucked away.

Neil was clearly robbed - guilt was forcing the memory to the back of your mind

I think Shed tuner has hit on something here though, I fairly recently bought 4" Daisy Powerline pistol to go with my 6" Powerline only to find I already had the 4" but not the 6". The 6" I thought I had turned out to be a Crosman 38T, but then I did get a 38C to go with that (I think?).. I so need to do a stock check!.. I'm only in my early fifty's and I dread to think what I'm going to buy next!

I really enjoy finding guns I have forgotten I have.

I bought I nice Brocock Atomic from Vic Thompson at Kempton last October and although I did use it I forgot about it until 3 weeks ago.

I then had to convince myself I had it and found it after a brief search.

Yes, I have joined the club of losing it too....Sometimes I forget why I am taking Viagra and what is it for?

Fortunately, I can remember the password to log into the PC where I have it written down on many Stickies scattered around the place. I am just about savvy enough to record everything about each of them in Excel Spreadsheets and update them as necessary....otherwise I would be stuffed......

My memory has, on occasion, never been particularly brilliant, so I've usually tried to keep a record of what's in my gun collection, but occasionally guns do slip through the net, such as the Vulcan I'm currently offering for sale which only came to light whilst getting a Vulcan de-luxe ready for sale. As one gets older, for some of us it's even more important than others to keep a written record, as long as you can remember where the record is.
Several years ago I produced some replica Webley Valvespout oil cans, and subsequently managed to purchase a few more WW11 donor cans from the USA, then carefully put them away until I was ready to produce a few more replicas, but do you think I can find them, can I as hell like.
