I seem to recall it is an option when you open the post for edit. Not sure if it is possible for threads with other posts in them though.

I seem to remember from years ago deleting threads when the item was sold, as it's one of my pet hates on sales sites when people don't delete sold items.

I've closed your old thread and added a link to your new one .

It's weeks old anyway, so it'll just drift down the pages into history.

Which only moves it back to the top as a fresh post

Why bother ? Just Edit the first & final posts with SOLD, WITHDRAWN or whatever, (as an edit doesn't go back to the top) then let it fall down the pages.

Not sure if you could in the past. Im sure it was made that the moderators could only delete it incase there was an issue and the post would still be there if the investigated .

The moderators may be able to confirm this .

Editing will not remove the other post from other users .

By not deleting sales threads helps people when they do a search to see how much they should charge for similar items. Just put "SOLD" in the title leaving the price.
Sometimes I sits and thinks, but mostly I just sits.

Far better to use the 'report' function. It'll be emailed to the Mods, rather than just leaving it to chance.

Titles can't be edited after posting.
