Not at all.
Back in the 70s-early 80s, the break barrel ASI Paratrooper repeater (aka Gamatic or something like that) was the only repeating air rifle that was cheap and widely available. If you were a teenage ninja, you could rapid fire it from the shoulder without lowering the butt. Was it a good barn gun? No. Because it was bloody inaccurate. You could hose down tin cans like a slo-mo version of the St Valentine's Day massacre, but could not reliably put ten rounds into a rat brain size target consistently at normal barn ranges, because the loading mechanism deformed the pellets, even the Gamo ones that were meant to work in it.
PM me your address and I'll send you a couple of dozen RWS Hollowpoints gratis. They work surprisingly well in my Ultra

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.....
Rhys,I swapped from .177 to .22 and have my rapid set at 9.5ftlb, I use hobby flats for all my barn/stable work with zero thru's. But Im just looking at buying a .25 P15 as Ive had a bash with a buddies new one, its realy good and sensible money
I swapped due to ricochet's as theres expensive machinery and livestock to think about, plus I can take ferals off beams with no chance of roof damage

Just thought I'd add to this and it sort of echoes Chris's comments above.
I picked up an old .22 Webley raider 2 shot a few months ago. Cosmetically challenged but after inspection and testing, holds air well and pretty consistent accuracy wise.
I'd sort of already decided it would be used as a barn rifle and last night it got its first outing on some ferals a farmer had asked me to clear.
The power was around 11 with mid weight pellets so I tried JSB rs over the chrono and it was showing just under 10ft/lbs.
Some group testing decided that I'd use these.
Did the job perfectly last night with no over penetration and the ability to get a reasonably quick second shot off too. The light pellets deliver all their energy into the quarry and dont exit.
Shabby as it is, its earned a place in the cabinet and it cost peanuts to buy.
